The modern-day Wright Brothers, who began this journey in
December, are planning to make their final stop at Kitty Hawk,
NC in December, 2003 as part of the First
Flight Centennial® Celebration, commemorating the
first historic flight made by Orville and Wilbur.
These modern Wright Brothers have been sanctioned by the
National Aeronautic Association (NAA),
and are carrying a secure flight recorder to validate and
document this historic voyage. They've also agreed to offer
their Piper Cherokee aircraft to the Smithsonian Air and Space
Museum in Washington, D.C. for display, at the completion
of the journey.
